Summary
The Program Manager II is responsible for leadership of the organization in regards to meeting customer expectations in terms of quality, cost and planning, as well as, managing Autoneum’s cash and profitability.They obtain and direct all the activities of the program team members including Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Sales, R&D, HR, Systems Engineering, etc., to meet program requirements. They serve as the interface between the customer design and release engineers and the Autoneum cross-functional team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a leadership role for the program team
- Effectively utilizes the escalation process as required to close issues
- Interfaces with customer and manages all customer activities and support
- Establishes program organization and delegates program responsibilities
- Organizes their projects and ensures adherence to APD tools and processes
- Authorizes work to supporting organizations
- Reviews staffing and organization plans related to cross functional support during project initiation phase
- Reviews technical, cost and scheduling performance of the supporting organizations on a regular basis
- Identifies critical problems and assigns responsibility for resolution
- Provides coaching, training and support to individuals and cross functional teams as it pertains to Program Management techniques and best practices
- Assures timely preparation of program status reviews (financials, schedule, tooling, action registers, etc.)
- Assures timely preparation of design requirements, specifications, design reviews and other design parameters
- Manages tooling and the associated WBS accounts, interfaces with purchasing and the Autoneum tooling group and ensures payment of customer tooling within established APD expectations
- Sets up and manages Customer group Budgets for Prototypes, CapEx, Tooling, Launch
- Other duties as assigned
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, business administration, or economics
- CAPM or PMP certification preferred
- Technical training in product development preferred

Competencies required for Program Managers are defined based on Low, Medium, or Global/High level of program complexity. In less complex programs, technical skills are a decisive factor while managerial and leadership skills are predominate for more complex programs.
Product Skills
- Product knowledge / experience with car manufacturer or Tier one system integrator (in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing)
- Engineering, Design, and Testing experience
Plant/Production Skills
- Preferred manufacturing experience through operational position with a plant
PMS / Program Tool Skills
- Experience as a Program/Project Manager
- Knowledge of AIAG, APQP and IATF procedures
- Knowledge of all quality tools (FMEA, design of experiment, functional analysis, ...)
- Implement and respect Program Management System
- Manage Program progress through Program Management Tool, Launch Readiness Scorecard, Open Issues Lists, KPIs
Finance Skills
- Knowledge of financial analysis skills with good understanding of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and cost drivers
- Knowledge of Business Case creation and how to improve Contribution Margin
- Experience in cost reduction action plans
- Demonstrated vision to build the most relevant scenarios in terms of product design, industrial layout and commercial frames

This position works under pressure of deadlines with interruptions occurring regularly.
Travel required, by car or air, to visit customers and manufacturing locations. Some international travel could be required.
Position frequently requires more than 40 hours per week.
