The Center for Global Engagement (CGE)
Responsibilities
* The CGE Program manager is responsible for overseeing the licensed kitchen in CGE and food production to support all CGE programs, events, and receptions. Implement new programs to better meet the changing needs of students.
* Plan and facilitate International Coffee Hours and Global Cafes and network with student organizations and departments for co-hosting opportunities. Finalize schedule of co-hosts, meet with students to go over Global Café preparation process and roles of volunteers. Create menu and oversee shopping and food preparation and serving. Convert recipes for food items to quantities to serve up to 150 - 200 for Global Café and up to 500 for International Coffee Hour. Prepare shopping lists weekly and ensure all products for the week are available. Finalize the report of the Global Café showing how many tickets sold, cost of food and balance to be transferred to the co-sponsoring student group.
* Oversee menu and set up for variety of CGE receptions and special events. Plan and facilitate the annual CGE International Bazaar to include tabling and performances by student organizations and other partners. Serve on International Education Month planning committee to include CGE programs and programs in collaboration with other units. Assist with planning and facilitating the logistics of International Student Orientations held each fall, spring and summer. Oversee student program staff to help with set up, campus tours, and to interact and welcome international students. Work with Assistant Director and Director to establish annual budget for food for CGE events and plan menus accordingly. Shop for products using P-card, track expenses and turn in receipts.
* Network with Congress of Graduate Students and other campus groups to develop collaborative programs. Work on new initiatives such as monthly Graduate Student Coffee Hour and a welcome reception for new International and US graduate students each fall. Increase programming that brings together International and US students for social and educational programs. Hold focus groups to identify additional programs that would meet the needs of the students. Hire, train, and supervise OPS/FWS students to assist with programming.
* Serve as kitchen manager and maintain licensed kitchen to meet Leon County Health Dept Standards. Apply and renew license on annual basis, and ensure required inspections, hood cleaning and fumigation are carried out on regular basis. Identify problems with equipment and arrange for quotes for repairs and replacement. Hire, train and supervise student staff to work in the kitchen to prepare food, set up and serve, clean and sanitize kitchen as well as assist with inventory and other tasks as needed. Train students on kitchen safety and use of equipment, and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed and that all student staff have food handling permits.
* Attend all major CGE and DSA events and serve on committees as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree and four years experience related to administrative services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years in the same.
* ServSafe Manager Certificate or ability to acquire within 30 days of hire.
* A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a licensed kitchen.
* Experience preparing large quantities of menu items from a variety of global cuisines.
* Experience converting recipes to serve hundreds of people and generate shopping lists accordingly.
* Experience in event and project management.
* Experience supervising student staff and student groups.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and network with various stakeholders.

The CGE provides orientation, immigration advising, and ongoing support to over 2,400 international students and family members, as well as to over 250 international scholars and faculty. We also offer all FSU students the opportunity to enroll in a 12 credit academic Global Citizenship Certificate, and/or participate in one of our 45 academic exchange programs in 20 countries. In addition, we provide a variety of educational and social programs open to the entire FSU community.

Anticipated Salary Range
Starting in the high $40,000's, commensurate with education and experience.
