The Role: Program Manager, Animal Behavior
We're seeking a strategic, results-driven Program Manager to lead animal behavior and detection initiatives within the security technology division. In this role, you'll oversee end-to-end program execution—from research alignment and training framework development to operational integration and stakeholder communication.
You will interface with interdisciplinary technical and non-technical teams, ensure consistent program quality, and help translate behavioral science into scalable, field-ready detection solutions.
What You'll Do
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of animal behavior programs aligned with organizational goals
- Coordinate across departments—R&D, operations, engineering, and field teams—to ensure seamless integration of behavior-based solutions
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of animal training protocols
- Ensure all animal welfare practices meet or exceed scientific and ethical standards
- Guide curriculum development for training staff and field handlers
- Represent the program in presentations to leadership, clients, and external stakeholders
- Support the design and field-testing of applied detection solutions
- Manage lab operations: data collection, environment maintenance, documentation
Required
What You Bring
- Significant experience in animal behavior, scent detection, or applied behavioral science
- Strong foundation in operant conditioning, behavior analysis, and animal welfare standards
- Demonstrated success in influencing cross-functional programs or teams
- Experience delivering training initiatives and managing stakeholder expectations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Adaptability in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments
Preferred
- Familiarity with lab management tools or behavioral data systems
- Background in behavioral research or methodology development
- Ability to analyze and interpret behavioral research data to inform training outcomes and program decisions; comfort working with structured datasets but not required to manage databases
- Experience working with tech-integrated or interdisciplinary projects
- Certification or practical experience in small animal care/husbandry
- Ability to troubleshoot and root-cause minor technical issues with field or lab hardware used in training and detection systems

- Must be 18+ years old
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must pass a general background check
- This position will require travel based on customer needs
