The Role: Program Manager, Animal Behavior

We're seeking a strategic, results-driven Program Manager to lead animal behavior and detection initiatives within the security technology division. In this role, you'll oversee end-to-end program execution—from research alignment and training framework development to operational integration and stakeholder communication.

You will interface with interdisciplinary technical and non-technical teams, ensure consistent program quality, and help translate behavioral science into scalable, field-ready detection solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of animal behavior programs aligned with organizational goals
  • Coordinate across departments—R&D, operations, engineering, and field teams—to ensure seamless integration of behavior-based solutions
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of animal training protocols
  • Ensure all animal welfare practices meet or exceed scientific and ethical standards
  • Guide curriculum development for training staff and field handlers
  • Represent the program in presentations to leadership, clients, and external stakeholders
  • Support the design and field-testing of applied detection solutions
  • Manage lab operations: data collection, environment maintenance, documentation

  • Strong foundation in operant conditioning, behavior analysis, and animal welfare standards
  • Demonstrated success in influencing cross-functional programs or teams
  • Experience delivering training initiatives and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Adaptability in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments

Preferred

  • Familiarity with lab management tools or behavioral data systems
  • Background in behavioral research or methodology development
  • Ability to analyze and interpret behavioral research data to inform training outcomes and program decisions; comfort working with structured datasets but not required to manage databases
  • Experience working with tech-integrated or interdisciplinary projects
  • Certification or practical experience in small animal care/husbandry
  • Ability to troubleshoot and root-cause minor technical issues with field or lab hardware used in training and detection systems

Other Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Must pass a general background check
