Description:

The organization is seeking a Director of Program Management to join the Project Management team, responsible for progressing a pipeline of novel therapeutics through development and into the clinic.

The successful candidate is expected to apply core principles of project management and demonstrate a proven ability to manage drug development programs from early research through clinical proof-of-concept. This individual will work closely with project team leaders, strategic collaborators, and cross-functional stakeholders to define program strategies, develop integrated project plans, and drive implementation to meet established goals.

The individual will be responsible for establishing and maintaining functionally integrated project timelines and will prepare and manage project budgets in collaboration with Finance and cross-functional team leads. This individual will partner with project leaders to help foster and maintain a high-performing, collaborative team dynamic that supports sustainable success.

The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development and refinement of project management tools and operational processes across the discovery and development portfolio to support broader strategic initiatives. Additional responsibilities may include leading or supporting meetings with Health Authorities, Advisory Boards, and Steering Committees. The Director will also manage the hiring, development, and day-to-day oversight of project management staff to ensure program objectives, timelines, and deliverables are consistently met.

Responsibilities:

• Define and implement integrated program strategies in collaboration with project leaders and functional stakeholders
• Develop and maintain detailed, functionally integrated project timelines and deliverables
• Prepare and manage project team budgets in collaboration with Finance and cross-functional leads
• Partner with project leaders to ensure team cohesion, high performance, and timely delivery of program milestones
• Support and/or lead regulatory and strategic meetings including Health Authority interactions, Advisory Boards, and Steering Committees
• Manage, mentor, and develop project management staff; oversee their work to ensure successful execution of project goals

Requirements:

• BS degree in a life science discipline required; MS or PhD preferred
• Minimum of 10 years managing drug development projects in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including 5+ years managing or coaching a team of project managers
• In-depth knowledge of the drug development process, with emphasis on IND-enabling studies through clinical proof-of-concept
• Experience developing and implementing fit-for-purpose tools to enhance processes across the organization
• Strategic thinking with the ability to distill complex information into key messages for broader communication
• Proven ability to lead in a matrixed environment and influence without direct authority
• Expertise in facilitating and documenting team meetings to support cross-functional alignment and effective decision-making
• Must be available to work onsite at least 4 days per week
