Summary

The Program Launch Engineer is responsible for coordinating and executing the introduction of

new products from design through to full-scale production. This role ensures that new products

meet all manufacturing, quality, cost, and timeline requirements. The engineer will work cross-

functionally with design, quality, production, and supply chain teams to ensure a smooth and

successful product launch.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams during new product introduction (NPI) and
  • product launch phases.
  • Support and direction on CNC/Swiss/Davenport/ACME machining
  • Develop and maintain project timelines and deliverables to meet launch targets.
  • Review and validate design for manufacturability (DFM) and support engineering
  • changes as needed.
  • Plan, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment for new
  • products.
  • Support process capability studies, PFMEAs, and other quality assurance activities
  • through Quality personnel.
  • Support prototype builds and pre-production runs, capturing feedback and implementing
  • improvements.
  • Interface with suppliers to ensure readiness of materials, components, and tooling.
  • Monitor and report on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, customer
  • requirements, and company procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related
  • field).
  • CNC and or Swiss Machining experience
  • 3+ years of experience in product launch, process engineering, or manufacturing
  • engineering.
  • Experience with CAD tools, GD&T, and production documentation (e.g., work
  • instructions, BOMs).
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and other quality and launch methodologies.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience in machining and machining methodology.
  • Proficiency in ERP and PLM systems.
  • Six Sigma or PMP certification is a plus.
