Job Summary
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Program Finance Manager to support it Civil Systems Group (CSG). This position provides leadership in all areas of program analytics, financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities. Specific responsibilities include direct delivery analysis, government customer interaction, tracking of funding, annual and multi-year budgeting, development of financial forecasts and planning scenarios, development and implementation of financial and operational metrics, dashboards, and capital expenditure planning, and improvements in financial and business processes as prescribed by the CSG Group CFO. This position serves as a trusted financial advisor to all levels of the CSG Division, providing the financial data, trends analysis, and predictive analytics the corporation needs to deliver its value proposition to customers and to meet its goals. This role works closely with CSG Group CFO to ensure a consistent vision and implementation of financial policies, practices, and processes throughout The Aerospace Corporation.
Work Model
This is a full-time position based in either our Crystal City or Chantilly, VA location, offering a hybrid work model that combines 4 days regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility the balance of the week or as the business needs allow.
What You'll Be Doing
* Integral member of the organization and corporate management teams; key business advisor to senior leaders and organization managers; significant contributor in the development of administrative strategic plans and business-related processes; implements near-term and long-range strategies
* Serves as the primary business and administrative interface with senior level customers; maintains excellent working relationships with customer counterpart(s) to identify and secure profession technical staff (PTS) allocation(s) and funding
* Implements corporate standard financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes, tools, and cadence within cognizant organization, optimizing compliance and efficiency; directs development and maintenance of cost and schedule baselines and forecasts that meet the program and company requirements and are integrated with the program Statement of Work (SOW) as included in the Aerospace Requirements Tool (ART), and other program planning documents
* Develops and manages delivery PTS and financial plans and forecasts for direct and indirect funded activities at the organization level; tracks and performs analyses for various budgets; and maintains organizational statistics
* Compares and analyzes PTS and financial results with plans and forecasts; identifies trends, assesses and communicates reliable metrics that management can use to make informed business decisions; uses data-driven insights to recommend corrective actions to achieve PTS and financial plans
* Supports strategic projects at the group and corporate level
* Informs CSG Group CFO and General Managers on financial trends, reporting unit performance and recommends corrective actions to achieve financial plans
* Compares and analyzes financial results with plans and forecasts, identifies trends, assess and communicate reliable metrics that management can use to make informed business decisions
* Makes or recommends value-informed purchasing, investing, and delivery decisions on behalf of the General Manager
* May manage direct reports
What You Need to be Successful - Program Finance Manager
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
* Eight or more years of experience in financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting
* Strong financial systems experience to include SAP S4/Hana and other SAP management software, CRM, and Dassian
* Experience with data analytic and business intelligence tools or software
* Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills with demonstrated ability to
* collaborate effectively with peers, direct reports, customers, and leadership
* Experience with all contract types and revenue recognition principles.
* Experience with baseline planning and scheduling, forecasting, and estimating, and/or cost/schedule integration techniques
* Experience in program management reporting and briefing, risk management tracking and/or corrective action plans
* Strong analytical skills. Proactive in analyzing data and variances to help inform future performance on our projects
* Detail-oriented and passionate about producing accurate reports
* Expertise in strategic planning and deployment of Finance services for a geographically dispersed organization
* Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changes as needed
* Demonstrated experience as a resourceful and creative solution finder who can develop
* options with a broad perspective on the potential impact to the corporation
* Ability to establish rapport and build trust quickly at all levels of the organization
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
* Master in Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
* Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation
* Experience in a US government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) contracting environment
* Knowledge of cost accounting standards (CAS)
* Knowledge of governmental and government contractor budgeting systems and practices
* Prior experience as a Financial or Program Control Manager
* Prior experience within a research or Federally Funded Research and Development (FFRDC) environment
* Current security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
