Summary

Sound of Life, a dynamic part of Northwestern Media and our newest station, is looking for their next Program Director. The Program Director at Sound of Life is a full-time position. The right person will show passion for the difference the CCM format makes in the lives of others. You'll be empowered to help craft the Sound of Life to serve listeners in the beautiful Hudson Valley and beyond. Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Work closely with the Station Manager to develop on-air staff to reach unprecedented audience levels for ministry and donor development. * Assist the Station Manager in strategizing and implementing current and future strategic direction. * Oversee and develop the listener experience, including the music and imaging of Sound of Life. * Assist in developing and maintaining the station's branding as requested. * Recruit, oversee and develop all air talent to effectively reach unprecedented levels of authenticity and effectiveness and to be relevant to the station's target listener, both on-air and off-air through digital platforms (social media, web, etc.). Frequently listen to and conduct air check sessions with on-air talent. * Schedule staff for remotes and appearances. * Direct Sound of Life's music by selecting music and adding format appropriate music; utilize research that helps structure music rotations to meet audience expectations. Produce daily music logs. Manage effective relationships with music labels. * Partner with the Station Manager and Engagement Director to determine viable initiatives, strategic relationships with other organizations and plan digital (web, social media, etc.) content. * Prepare for and host an on-air shift. * Create and develop imaging that fits the station's strategic purpose. What will it take to succeed in this position? Minimum Education and Experience: * High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred * Previous related radio experience a minimum of three years required * Previous supervisory experience preferred * Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, kind, and tactful manner * Ability to respond quickly and in a professional manner to time sensitive situations * Self-starter with ability to work in both a team environment and independently, without close supervision * Detail oriented with ability to prioritize projects and complete tasks accurately within deadlines * Excellent team leadership skills with ability to motivate staff, set goals, provide feedback, and manage performance * Strong on-air and public speaking skills with ability to host events and effectively communicate spiritual truths * Knowledge and understanding of FCC rules and regulations as it pertains to broadcast stations * Knowledge and understanding of computer skills at an intermediate level * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to adjust communication style based on audience needs * Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, working occasional weekends and evenings as needed for events * Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment What are the benefits of working at Northwestern?
