YMCA Lake Dewar Discovery camp, located near the stunning Werribee Gorge, is seeking a passionate individual with a background in outdoor education and recreation to join their dynamic team! About the Camp Lake Dewar Discovery Camp is an adventure camp located just 60 minutes from Melbourne, and managed by YMCA Camps. Nearby to the Werribee River and surrounding gorges, and catering to schools and groups year-round, the team at Lake Dewar run a variety of programs and activities to suit every group, from stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing and raft building, to a relaxing spot of fishing. Featuring lakeside apartments and a plethora of indoor and outdoor facilities and full catering options, Lake Dewar Lodge is a perfect place to explore the great outdoors. About the Role As Program Coordinator, you will lead a team of program staff to deliver programs and activities to visiting schools and community groups, and liaise with teachers and group leaders to ensure learning outcomes are achieved in an engaging and safe manner. This hands on role will see you supervising and training program staff, volunteers and placement students, as well as working directly in the program. You will be responsible for: Ensuring all camp programs are delivered effectively and safely, through effective communication within your facilitating team Continual review and improvement of current programs, as well as development of new programs Responding to client needs to ensure exceptional quality of service Risk management review and procedures in line with all camp programs Upholding the values of the YMCA at all times This is a permanent, full-time role with an hourly pay rate of $31.01 + super. About You You are a motivated outdoor education professional, with experience in the coordination and delivery of outdoor recreation programs involving young people. You demonstrate strong leadership qualities, and possess strong interpersonal skills, which will allow you to build strong and positive relationships with a number of stakeholders. You are proactive, professional and organised with a proven capacity for ‘getting the job done’.
