The purpose of this position is to oversee the administrative operations, functions and processes related to undergraduate programs in the School of Music as a direct administrative consultant to the unit head with services extended to graduate students as needed. This position entails coordination of the strategic planning, and implementation and evaluation of: recruitment; admissions and enrollment; academic advising and mentoring; scholarships and tuition awards; curriculum development; course and program proposals; and all student success functions including peer tutoring, mentoring, and representation and advocacy, all specific within the School's day to day business. This position requires industry and professional knowledge within the field of Music which informs guidance, advisory, and informational functions for faculty, administrators, and internal and external stakeholders including accreditation bodies. Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate the complex undergraduate programs in the School of Music, with moderate guidance, which includes: * Supporting recruitment/admissions/enrollment and student success models. * Serving various student needs that are sometimes unique. * Carrying out the vision and direction for programmatic and curricular changes. * Collecting and analyzing data and information related to academic programs and curriculum. * Providing advisory and information services to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, administrators and external agencies. * Organizing and providing services for the recruitment, audition and educational events offered through and on behalf of the School of Music. * Keeping the School Director apprised on all matters related to the undergraduate program and unit at large. Coordinate all undergraduate academic and mentoring activities in a unit with approximately 300 majors across 2 professional Bachelor of Music degrees (which include 23 distinct sub-plans), an advising-intensive liberal arts program Bachelor of Arts in Music and the Arizona Online Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, and a large minor. This includes: * Direct advising of students including the evaluation of transfer credit. * Sophisticated knowledge of all curricula and innovative pathways and approaches. * Provision of mentorship and guidance alongside faculty mentors. * Oversight of all orientation and enrollment activities. Coordinates and facilitates various aspects and implementation to the planning relating to the development of coursework and programs to meet the interests and needs of students, faculty, related industries, and other stakeholders. This requires: * Obtaining general competent knowledge of careers in music; trends and indicators in the future of music and its interdisciplinary potential. * Frequently research and planning that is original, data driven, present fresh viewpoints. * Collecting, analyzing and reporting on data and information related to academic programs and curriculum. * Guides recruitment, visibility, and events that raise the profile of the undergraduate program. * Cultivate relationships with leaders in community colleges, high schools, and other partners; meet directly with prospective students, parents, and other stakeholders. * Develop tools for pathways into the program for transfer and first-time students. * Organizes planning of admissions and audition events/scheduling. * Co-managing and overseeing the use of scholarship and tuition award funds. Representing the school across the campus community including: * Promoting and advocate for participation in performance ensembles. * Serving alongside student success administrators and leaders on university wide committees and working groups. * Collaborating with the College on issues including recruitment and enrollment, peer mentoring, student ambassadors, and student success models. * Represent the school at internal and external recruitment, visibility raising, and other significant events. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Ability to work independently, creatively, and in varied situations that involve evaluation and interpretation, requiring innovation and creativity. * Proficiency with relevant business software and applications including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google suite, Adobe InDesign, and WordPress. * Ability to collect and analyze data and to use data to leverage change, monitor and revise programs. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Music or related academic degree. * Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in an academic environment, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in Music or related field. * Experience with UA systems including UAnalytics, UAccess Student, Slate, Trellis, Advisement Reports, Curriculum Management, MSS Manager Self-Service. * Experience working in Higher Education/College, the arts. * Experience in the field of music and its programs, curricula, requirements, career placement, and industry landscape and trends. * Experience in an academic environment teaching in K-12 public and private schools, collegiate level, or applied individual teaching; counseling services; strategic planning and data collection/analysis; communications.
