Overview
The Global Government Affairs group within the General Counsel's Organization (GCO) seeks a Program Coordinator, U.S. Regulatory Relations (USRR). As the principal intermediary between the company and the supervisory personnel of its federal banking regulators, USRR plays a strategic role in driving a cohesive approach to supervision and in cascading key regulatory focus areas to management, and the AXP and AENB Boards. The Program Coordinator will play a critical role in setting the tone for interactions between US federal regulators and American Express.
The successful candidate will report to the VP, Governance, Operations and Analytics (GOA) with responsibility to schedule Continuous Monitoring (CM) regulatory meetings, problem solve scheduling conflicts efficiently and ensure clear lines of communication with the CM team, regulatory authorities and internal Business Unit (BU) teams.
Key Expectations and Responsibilities:
* Run point on all administrative aspects of a high volume of continuous monitoring meetings, including scheduling, rescheduling and managing room reservations.
* Manage and update the USRR calendar for regulatory meetings / interactions with discretion and care.
* Establish and maintain effective communication channels with the CM team, and internal BU points of contact to determine meeting times and availability.
* Proactively identify and resolve potential issues or scheduling conflicts efficiently.
* Foster positive and collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
* Update and maintain the regulatory interaction system of record.
* Support the development and implementation of technology upgrades as it relates to the scheduling process.
Minimum Qualifications
* 4+ years of previous experience in scheduling meetings, program coordination, or administrative support roles.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills to keep track of all meetings and prioritize tasks efficiently.
* Proficient in Excel and Outlook and comfortable adapting to new technology.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills (via phone, email, Webex and in-person).
* Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to adjust schedules timely and efficiently.
* Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy, quality, timeliness, and follow through.
* Ability to work in a dynamic team and independently manage multiple tasks and changing priorities with flexibility, adaptability and patience.
* Abilit to work under pressure and remain agile and efficient.
* Enthusiasm to work collaboratively and proactively with the broader GCO team and build relationships across American Express
Preferred Skills and Experience
* Experience with American Express systems and processes such as Concur, Reserve, TechCare, Ariba, etc., or similar.
* Bachelor's degree preferred
Salary Range: $24.05 to $48.10 hourly + bonus + benefits
