Located in Hammond Park on Irvine Parade, the college opened in 2020 to Year 7 Students. The college buildings include state of the art classrooms, a library, administration and extensive student wellbeing hubs. The college also features specialist facilities for performing and visual arts, science laboratories, food and textiles, design and technology workshops and a gymnasium. The cafeteria is the hub of the central precinct and provides indoor and outdoor seating, landscaped gardens and open spaces. Multipurpose courts and oval were also included in the first stage of the build.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our growing Student Wellbeing Team. The Head of Student Wellbeing plays a key role in supporting student wellbeing, pastoral care, and academic success across the college. Working as part of the Student Wellbeing leadership team, the successful applicant should collaborate with staff, students, parents, and the wider community to foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

Hammond Park Secondary College (HPSC) has a wellbeing focus and implements a Social and Emotional Wellbeing program informed by the Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment, and Health (PERMAH) principles through our Homeroom classes. Wellbeing for both staff and students is a college priority, and this role will focus on student wellbeing through the lens of student engagement, attendance, good standing and positive mental health. An in depth understanding of case management, restorative justice practices and a detailed understanding of Department policy is highly regarded.

All members of the Hammond Park team should possess a growth mindset, the ability to self-reflect and seek feedback, and an ongoing drive for self-development and improvement. This position also ideally requires a person with highly developed interpersonal and organisation skills, and the ability to interrogate data to evaluate programs and strategic directions.

We are ideally seeking a vibrant leader with a proven capacity to form positive and productive relationships with students, staff, families and external stakeholders.
