The Southern Regional Education Board is seeking a hybrid Program Coordinator for our Doctoral Scholars Program to support the administration of the Doctoral Scholars Program. In this role, you would be responsible for student interactions, as well as facilitating communications with institutions and state liaisons and other responsibilities supporting the program, the Office of Postsecondary Education and SREB initiatives.

The Doctoral Scholars Program has been supporting this mission/vision for the last 32 years by working to increase the number of students who earn their doctorates and choose to become faculty at colleges and universities.
What does a Program Coordinator do?
- Maintains, supports and manages relationships with students, institutions, and state liaisons
- Manage application processes (review, ranking, notification of awards, interviews, etc.)
- Confirm fall, spring, and summer enrollment and grades
- Manage program database; Analyze and summarize program data for regular and ad hoc reports
- Facilitate and respond to communications and interactions with institutions and state liaisons
- Lead and participate in program area team meetings with regard to scholars, states, and institutions.
- Track legislative and regulatory actions related to the program
- Assists with the development of program policies
- Attend, engage and support the annual Institute of Teaching and Mentoring.
- Prepare memoranda of agreements
- Facilitate/organize Regional Advisory Committee meetings
- Maintains contacts database of individuals related to program
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of the Postsecondary Education team
- Represents the organization with dignity, integrity, and a spirit of cooperation in all relationships with staff, students and shareholders.
What does it take to be a Program Coordinator? Bachelor's degree in public administration, education, or a related field; AND two (2) years of project management and administrative support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction
- Developing and implementing goals, objectives, procedures, and work practices
- Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment as well as a face-to-face environment. This hybrid position is located at SREB headquarters in midtown Atlanta
- Successful completion of background investigation and drug screening.
- Ability to travel overnight occasionally.
- Understands database operations and is competent and proficient with Excel

No supervisory responsibility.

To support SREB’s top priorities, compensation decisions balance internal equity and external competitiveness within the boundaries of financial feasibility.Salaries for new employees will be established at levels that recognize the individual’s skills and experience while considering the salary levels of current employees within the same job title and those performing comparable work within the parameters of discipline, function, and individual effectiveness.
