Program Automation Coordinator (Long-term Care Regulation)

Under the supervision of the Regional Director, or designee, the Program Automation Coordinator (PAC) performs highly complex (senior-level) computer systems support work. The PAC may supervise the work of others, and works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The responsibilities of the PAC include providing customer support for agency information systems and operating automated office equipment in a stand-alone, network, or mainframe environment. The PAC ensures all regulatory services staff are able to access required computer network systems by completing appropriate paperwork and assisting with training, sign-on, passwords, software, access rights or troubleshooting issues; assists staff identify and resolve automation problems; prepares management reports to track regional data for quality assurance; trains or oversees training for regulatory services staff in all automation programs (ASPEN, CARES, ACTS, AEM, etc.); participates in automation scan calls, training or other applicable meetings to ensure all regulatory services computer systems are functioning properly; maintains cell phone registry, software licenses, PC refresh project, consolidated visit schedules, tracking logs and regional inventory of fixed assets; may cross-train to regulatory programs to assist with workload as needed; and performs other tasks and duties as assigned by the Regional Director.
Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy.
Advises users and analyzes user requirements concerning software and the efficient use of information technology systems.
Coordinates the update of personal computer and mainframe application programs.
Develops procedures and training manuals and conducts presentations and briefings.
Establishes and ensures that appropriate security controls over software are maintained.
Maintains records of daily data communication transactions, problems, remedial actions taken, and installation activities.
Prepares briefings, reports, and evaluations on systems efficiency and utilization.
Provides assistance in the design, development, and maintenance of various system applications.
Provides customer service and answers user inquiries regarding computer software, hardware operation, and the use and interface of systems and software applications.
Reviews and makes suggestions regarding the procurement of information technology equipment.
Sets up equipment for employee use and performs or ensures proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex computer-related problems.
May supervise the work of others.
Maintains cell phone registry, software licenses, PC refresh project, consolidated visit schedules, tracking logs and regional inventory of fixed assets.
Performs other assigned tasks and duties.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of the practices, principles, and techniques of computer operation, information systems, computer software and hardware, information security policies and procedures, local and wide area networks, and the management of information systems. Skill in the use and support of personal computers, in the use of applicable programs and systems, and in troubleshooting information systems. Ability to operate information technology systems, to troubleshoot and repair equipment, to communicate effectively, to supervise the work of others, to learn or implement quality assurance activities, to provide guidance, policy clarifications, and information to others, to prepare detailed written reports, and the ability to evaluate, assess, collect, and analyze data, and solve work problems, interpret policies, procedures, and regulations. Ability to work independently, multi-task and exercise sound professional judgment.

Initial Screening Criteria:
1. Experience with computer automation systems and system support related to Regulatory Services.
2. Experience with professionally communicating information orally and in writing preferred. (Measured by written reports/guidance, email correspondence, tracking information, attending/participating in meetings or workgroups.)
2. Experience with evaluating or participating in program operations and tracking quality assurance activities.
3. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college program, with a degree in computer science preferred.
Additional Information:
Flexibility in work hours required for this position. Must be able to work hours other than 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, as necessary. Must have reliable transportation.
This position is able to work a compressed workweek. Options include 4, 10-hour business days.
