Responsibilities
The Program Associate is responsible for providing travel, purchasing, and budgetary support for the Department of English. Assists with maintaining the accuracy of the department's financial records, initiates purchasing and travel actions, monitors expenditures, and assists with monthly reconciliation of the department's funds to include E&G, Carryforward, Contracts & Grants, SRAD, Tech Fee, FSU Foundation, FSU Research foundation, etc. budgets.
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Serving as travel representative for the Department of English faculty and guest travelers and backup for graduate students. This includes submission of travel requests and expense reimbursements as well as maintaining accurate tracking logs.
* Serving as departmental purchasing representative creating requisitions, purchase orders, and ePRF's in OMNI and SpearMart. This includes onboarding new vendors into PaymentWorks and processing honorariums for department speakers. Responsible for the maintenance of accurate tracking logs for all expenditures.
* Assisting Business Manager with monthly budget reconciliation for department funds to include E&G, Carryforward, Contracts & Grants, SRAD, Tech Fee, FSU Foundation, FSU Research foundation.
* Submission and monitoring of department scholarships into the FS4u system each semester.
* Ensuring accuracy and completion of all fiscal processes and tracking the department's financial transactions.
* Maintaining records, monitoring and verifying activity, ensuring compliance, and reporting on all department fund sources.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)

The English Department is seeking an individual who communicates effectively, is detailed-oriented, enjoys problem-solving, and can organize tasks and meet deadlines. The individual should also adapt easily to change and the needs of multiple stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications and experience include:
* Possesses strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to stringent deadlines.
* Experience researching and assessing data for accuracy in addition to identifying and taking corrective actions, if needed.
* Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, laws, rules & regulations.
* Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams; open to learning new software.
* Familiarity of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipated starting salary for the position will be $36,250, commensurate with experience and education.
