Program Assistant Transitions (2) JobID: 550 Position Type: Support Staff/Special Education Assistant Date Posted: 4/7/2025 Location: Methuen High School   Additional Information: Show/Hide Assist students with significant, intensive special needs throughout the day in class, lunch, and movement throughout the building at all times in a substantially separate setting (SP/Vocational), maintain very close proximity with students, implement behavior plans when needed, data collection when needed, close monitoring of students throughout the day across all settings, provide academic support as needed, monitoring for attention, work completion and social navigation; must be very comfortable with using assistive technology including ipad and various apps; support students with vocational and lifeskill tasks and behaviorally within the classroom setting; will need to provide direct supervision of students during less structured periods of the school day; assist students during community outings and assist students on vocational sites. Toileting assistance & changing support required, willing to be trained on using the hoyer lift and two person lift, able to lift up to 50lbs. Hours are based on program need (7:00-1:30, 7:15-1:45, 7:30-2:00) QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma required with associates degree or higher preferred * Experience working with children/students * Experience assisting in program implementation * Ability to work with professional staff * Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Support students with disabilities in inclusive and substantially separate settings * Needs to assist with a behavior plan implementation * Provide academic support as needed * May need to support feeding and toileting need * Monitoring for attention, work completion and social navigation * Perform duties as assigned by school administration * Other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher
