THUNDER BAY MILITARY FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE PROGRAM ASSISTANT The Thunder Bay Military Family Resource Centre is a not-for-profit organization that provides programs and services to military families in Thunder Bay. The Centre facilitates the services and support for all three core-services: relocation, deployment, and transition. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Program Assistant reports directly to the Program Director. The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of programming and services for military families. This includes administrative tasks, connecting and information members through social media, working with volunteers, and referrals to community agencies. QUALIFICATIONS: · Knowledge of military lifestyle is required · Knowledge of community resources and programming · Previous knowledge and experience working in a non-profit agency with volunteers and community agencies · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with active empathic listening skills · Effective time management and organizational skills · Post-secondary education in office administration is an asset · Broad computer knowledge and experience using MS Office, social media (Facebook, Instagram), and design software (Canva) · Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and on a flexible schedule · Physically able to move and lift materials, up to 50 lbs on occasion · Valid Class G Driver’s Licence with reliable vehicle · Job posting is day-time hours POSITION TYPE: Contract, 12 months, with potential for renewal. Part-time hours, 14 hours per week. Rate of pay: $22.37 per hour.
