Summary

Job Summary: We currently have a full-time Program Assistant opening at our El Dorado Center, located in Santa Cruz. Pay is $23/hour depending on experience. Reporting to the Program Manager, the role of the Program Assistant is to provide support and assistance to clients in planning and attaining their goals. Special focus will be on the clients needs related to the housing, physical health, issues of chemical dependency and mental health, stabilization of income, and reentry back into the community. This position will also include administrative duties, and requires excellent computer and office management and organizational skills. Services will be delivered with dignity and respect for each individual resident. El Dorado Center is a 16 bed, short-term treatment program for individuals who are in crisis and may be stepping down from an inpatient hospitalization. EDC staff provide structured activities, individual counseling, crisis intervention, outings, groups including creative expression, and nursing services. Psychiatric services are also provided to residents by County Mental Health. Our staff philosophy is one of collaboration and team-decision-making. We are looking for individuals who have direct experience working with the seriously mentally ill population. Additionally, we are looking for skilled counselors who respond to clients and situations with an empathic, reflective approach. In addition to these skills and attitudes, qualified candidates will also be willing to participate in the various roll-up-your-sleeves type of residential and domestic tasks. Duties & Responsibilities: Administrative Duties: Overseeing the petty cash fund, tracking purchase orders, ordering supplies, tracking staff training, filing, faxing, creating and/or modifying forms. Coordinating facility and equipment repairs. Support clients with activities that prepare them for successful discharge (e.g., establishing benefits, referrals to outpatient services, etc.) Must communicate effectively and be able to use current technology for collaboration and correspondence with community service providers. Assists, collects, monitors, analyzes programmatic/client data. Adheres to all reporting requirements utilizing current technologies. Meets all productivity and documentation reporting requirements. Complies with regulatory requirements. Provides service coordination. May represent program in community collaboration efforts and trainings. May provide direction and support to volunteer and on-call staff Under Manager Direction, may provide day-to-day general supervision of staff Attend weekly staff meetings and maintain minutes and staff attendance records. Issuing monthly rent statements to residents Completing and submitting unbenefited packets on time. Performing monthly facility inspections and safety checks General Residential Duties: Support client treatment activities, group attendance, and linkage to needed community resources. Monitors client movements in and around the facility. Monitors house logistics (basic cleaning, room searches, passes, transportation schedule, etc.) as needed. Maintains a valid California Drivers License and an Insurable Driving Record. Supports oversight of program schedule, supports Residential Counselors direction in running the floor as needed. Complete intake and other paperwork with clients. Participates in medication passes and adheres to all medication policies and procedures. Conducts client UAs. Safely provides transportation of clients in the community, following Encompass policies. Effectively collaborates with team members, as well as community partners. Qualifications: BA or equivalent life experience. Minimum one year supervised work experience in related program. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends. Ability to work in an intense environment dealing with varied personalities and cultures Elevated organization skills, advanced MS Office skills (word/excel), experience creating and manipulating forms, prioritizing tasks, and time management. Ability to role model daily living skills in a positive manner. Excellent organizational and administrative skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills in WORD and Excel. Valid CA driver's license and clearance for agency vehicle insurance coverage. Fingerprinting for licensing, criminal record clearance and necessary physical exams are required. If in recovery, two years clean and sober required. Ability to constructively deal with a high degree of physical/emotional stress. Bilingual in Spanish and English highly desirable.
