Queens Community House (QCH) is a multi-site, multi-service settlement house serving the diverse populations of Queens with a broad network of programs for Children and Youth, Adults and Families, and Older Adults. Our mission is to equip individuals and families with the resources to enrich their lives and foster healthy, inclusive communities.
Position Summary
We seek enthusiastic, mission-driven individuals who bring diverse backgrounds and experiences and are motivated to create positive change. As part of our Comprehensive Services for Immigrant Families program, the Program Aide will play a vital role in supporting both remote and on-site program activities. This position involves data entry, appointment scheduling, case follow-up, workshop promotion, and other administrative and program duties under the guidance of the Program Director.
Key Responsibilities
Record and monitor attendance for program activities.
Coordinate, plan, and facilitate program activities.
Assist participants in accessing activities, including virtual workshops.
Support the creation of the Monthly Calendar of Events.
Uphold confidentiality standards for participant information.
Participate actively in outreach activities to increase community engagement.
Maintain clear, consistent communication with supervisor and team.
Conduct pre-screening intake and collect enrollment documentation.
Support staff with case follow-up and closures.
Enter and manage data across multiple systems.
Assist with data management and workshop promotion, including flyer creation.
Complete additional tasks as required by the department.
Qualifications
Bilingual Spanish: Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish and English.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; current enrollment in an institution of higher education preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one year in office administration.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Teams/Zoom, and Google Docs; experience with data management systems (e.g., Salesforce).
Skills: Strong data entry, typing skills, detail-oriented, and organized. Ability to multitask and work with a high level of confidentiality.
Work Environment: Capability to work remotely with necessary privacy, internet access, and other supports.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service focus.
Schedule
28 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, with occasional evening availability as required.
