Description
Join the Jewish Experiences Team to oversee the coordination of the Intro to Judaism Program. Intro to Judaism is a two-part course consisting of 18 weeks of Introduction to Judaism and 18 weeks of Introduction to Hebrew. These courses are designed for people interested in learning more about Judaism, re-connecting with Jewish roots, and finding community through learning.
The Program Administrator will be responsible for organizing, planning, and recruiting for this program. They will be expected to attend each session in the evening and work to engage the participants in a meaningful way.
Essential Functions
- Attend and organize class sessions including location, space and time
- Recruit program participants using Jewish Experience and community resources, and personal outreach
- Work with The J marketing team to create a marketing and recruitment plan
- Support participants on their Introduction to Judaism journey, providing resources and connections as needed
- Administrative tasks such as coordinating with community clergy schedules, sending reminders, making copies, ordering textbooks, and maintaining curriculum standards
- Develop relationships with clergy, educators, and participants to provide a meaningful experience
- Facilitate surveys and evaluations of each class
Schedule
- 5-8 hours per week
- Must be able to attend evening classes
- Work from home optional
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Jewish culture, religion, holidays, and customs
- Proficient computer skills and willingness to learn new technologies
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with engaging diverse audiences
- Self-motivated to work independently
- Ability to work in the evening at least once a week to attend classes
- Reliable transportation during various types of weather
Physical Requirements
- Able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Able to move about inside the building to perform normal duties, including ascending and descending stairs
- Able to carry items up to 25 pounds
