Summary

Phoenix LiDAR Systems builds custom, survey-grade laser mapping systems, and automation software for flight planning, acquisition, and post-processing, enabling clients to collect detailed, 3D topographic information for a wide range of commercial and research applications, including engineering, construction, mining, and more. We are a remote sensing solutions company based in North Austin, TX, and we are looking to add a dynamic person to our team.

The Production Technician troubleshoots electronic and mechanical equipment on a component level, configures, maintains and services equipment, creates diagnostic reports, ensures quality control, inspects electronic and mechanical components, and communicates with other stations on the assembly line to ensure accuracy, speed and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Works with schematics to test, analyze, and troubleshoot systems on a component level.
  • Uses electronic lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers to troubleshoot electronic components
  • Generates detailed inspection/diagnostic reports and documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies using Bill of Material, pinout diagrams, and assembly instructions.
  • Configures and troubleshoots system components using the linux command line.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts.
  • Uses hand tools such as soldering irons and heat guns to assemble parts.
  • Conducts quality control checks.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Resolves assembly problems by efficiently communicating with different departments.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Cleans and maintains work areas and equipment, including tools.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Electrical Engineering coursework highly recommended and desired.
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Must have knowledge of electronic components including but not limited to resistors, capacitors, transistors, MOSFETs, Diodes, and Microcontrollers. Must know their function, applications, and be familiar with their specifications.
  • Must show excellent soldering experience and be able to solder components with package types such as QFP, QFN, 0805, 0603, and 0402
  • Must be able to operate lab equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Basic knowledge of the linux command line
