RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX seeking a Production Support Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 3 support for complex application issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated technical incidents related to application performance, integrations, and infrastructure
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurring issues
  • Work closely with development teams to debug and optimize code, database queries, and application performance
  • Support deployments, upgrades, and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to production environments
  • Develop and maintain monitoring solutions, setting up alerts and proactive measures to enhance system reliability
  • Collaborate with DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues related to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and databases
  • Automate repetitive support tasks using scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Maintain technical documentation, knowledge bases, and incident reports to improve troubleshooting efficiency
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 support teams

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-8+ years of experience in application support, system troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Strong expertise in Linux/Unix and Windows environments
  • Hands-on experience with databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, NoSQL like MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
  • Proficiency in log analysis and monitoring tools (Splunk, ELK, New Relic, AppDynamics, Datadog)
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience troubleshooting API integrations, web services, and microservices architectures
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, VPN, TCP/IP, HTTP/S)
  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or SQL for automation
  • Exposure to ITIL framework, incident, and change management processes
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and DevOps best practices is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
