Job Description:Production Shift Supervisor
Job Functions: Responsible for managing the hourly workforce in
executing the plants expectations for
safety, quality delivery, productivity, and cost within the assigned
shift and department.
- Manage the day-to-day operations for the manufacturing functions
- Manage 6-10 shift employees, assuring machine operators make run and
set-up standards
- Help machine operators with problem solving, adjustments, and
set-ups
- Perform the machining operations, watch for problems in the
production process, and check the accuracy of the finished piece
against drawings using calibrated measuring tools
- Safely run and maintain machines, as needed
- Organize workflow and ensuring that employees understand their
duties or delegated tasks
- Monitor employee productivity and providing constructive feedback
and coaching
- Plan and direct production, establish production priorities to
assure low cost, maximize efficiency/productivity, and meet/exceed
quality standards
- Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process to meet
customers expectations and deadlines
- Facilitate on-the-job training and cross training through work
assignments and use of mentoring to provide learning opportunities
and maximum use of equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Serve as shift company first responder for injured employees
- Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring
the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit and Harlow
Aerostructures
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of manufacturing of aircraft systems and daily
production planning
- Proven leadership skills in a high stress environment
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with cross
functional areas
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities to meet customers
expectations and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of machine operations, Makino Cell System, Fanuc, Siemens,
and Mazak Controls
- Ability to trouble shoot and inspect parts
Education And Experience Required
- Experience operating CNC machines
- 5 years experience in manufacturing industry, aerospace preferred
- Supervisory experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- First aid and CPR training, or willingness to get certified
