American RENOLIT Corporation specializes in the manufacturing of plastic films that are used in the Graphics, Signage, and Labeling industry. Other films manufactured in La Porte are used a decorative surface lamination films in furniture applications, and some films are specifically engineered as laminates for exterior building components. Your tasks at RENOLIT
GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for keeping the plant running by coaching employees to produce quality film that meets set performance standards and meets the quality requirements of the customers.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilites
Supervise and coordinate activities of team members with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity
Monitor the performance of the production lines, this could include decisions regarding film quality, machine operating conditions, or operating the line.
Record daily production performance figures and send a report at the end of the shift
Respond to emergency situations which arise in the area, such as dangerous situations requiring machine or plant shutdown, fire, threating weather conditions, personal injury, etc. Provide communication with the Director of Manufacturing as needed.
Notify the Director of Manufacturing of machine problems or breakdowns.
Ensure all shift CoAgo data is recorded accurately and put in the system (waste, refeed, time)
Provide recommendations and evaluations concerning employee job performance, discipline, etc. to the Director of Manufacturing or Employee development supervisor
Coordinate with maintenance any machine downtime because of machine failure and document corresponding repair (maintenance connect and verbal communication)
Approve timecards.
Assign overtime as needed according to the union contract.
Follow all relevant policies and procedures (5S, Safety, ISO, ARC policies, Union contract)
What we expect
Educational And Experience Requirements
High School diploma/General Equivalency diploma
5 or more years manufacturing supervision experience
Mechanical aptitude
Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Job Knowledge, Skills And Ability Requirements
High safety and cleanliness standards
Proven Supervisory skills in a manufacturing environment
Strong initiative to produce quality products.
Must have excellent attendance and safety record
Ability to work a 12-hour shift
Good communication skills within the department as well as with other departments
Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to creating a safe working environment
Positive attitude, flexibility
Knowledge of 5S and lean
Ability to walk, stand, push, pull, reach overhead, bend, and kneel.
Able to become forklift certified
