WHAT YOU WILL DO
JOB SUMMARY
Supervises and directs the activities of the Production hourly personnel by providing leadership, team building, and technical guidance. Accountable for maintaining production equipment in a condition to achieve the schedule and departmental KPI’s defined for safety, quality, budgeted cost, and performance expectations. Serves as an alternate to the Production Manager as appropriate.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

Supervises the assigned staff for accuracy of work, manufacturing processes, machine set-up, brand changes, overall equipment operation, recordkeeping, safety, housekeeping, procedures, and responsibility associated with the area of GMP and other relevant regulations.
Provides technical leadership while building teamwork through guidance, coaching, and support to facilitate problem solving. Lead, mentor and develop Group Leaders.
Maintains a visible safety program in assigned area to assure the safety and wellbeing of all employees comply with the safety standards.
Ensures quality production standards are maintained by examining output, checking finished product, conducting physical examinations of testing devices, tagging and/or removing nonconforming product, and monitoring employee use of inspection equipment and to ensure standard operating procedures are complying.
Reviews production orders or schedules to determine product data, such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
Interprets specifications, and job orders for workers, and assigns duties. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Works concurrently with cross-functional teams including Projects, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, OSHE, and R&D teams.
Lead investigations and resolution of improvements to production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, quality customer complaints (CAPA), safety incidents, and uses root cause analysis methodology.
Provide technical leadership with the Kaizen efforts to ensure application of lean techniques, improvements are achieved.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
HS Diploma or GED equivalent with 5-7 years Manufacturing leadership experience, or Associate’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 3-5 years of experience or a BS degree in Engineering or related field with 1-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Knowledge of:
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s or BS Degree in Engineering.
Chemical batch processing experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMAND
Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves moderate to heavy weight objects (10-50 lbs.).
Reach and grasp objects / Hand eye coordination.
Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.
Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
Identify and distinguish color and shades of color.
Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury.
Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape.
