Summary

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious leader to oversee operations as we scale up our novel process and expand shifts. Work Schedule

  • Swing shift: Nights and weekends as required when company adds additional shifts. First three months will be primarily day shifts (4x10s or 5x8s); possible adjustment towards 4x12s after, including evening or night shifts. Preference for a candidate that is comfortable with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Possess a positive attitude towards safety and actively promote a safety-first culture among team members.
  • Operate plant machinery and control process parameters.
  • Maintain qualification on numerous aspects of Savor’s processing facility.
  • Supervisor fellow shift workers operating concurrently on various processing steps and provide assistance during upset conditions
  • Supervise and contribute to the operation of plant machinery and control process parameters.
  • Supervise and contribute to setting up, operate, and clean production equipment including but not limited to tanks, pumps and valves.
  • Ensure proper sample collection and coordinate with QA/QC as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of processes to improve safety and quality and increase the productivity of the plant.
  • Cleaning & Housekeeping activities.
  • Attend various mandatory safety and departmental meetings, lead additional meetings for shift personnel
  • Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved.
  • Train operators on proper procedures and safety protocols
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between shifts, ensuring smooth shift handovers and continuity of operations
  • Document production data, create shift reports, and maintain accurate records
  • Work effectively with others as a team and ensure positive and productive work relationships are maintained within the department and company.
  • Assist other personnel as needed and will perform other duties essential to the department as requested by your supervisor.
  • Any other process-related duties, as required.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Required: Associate degree in Process Technology or similar with 3 years experience OR minimum 7 years’ experience as a Process Operator or similar, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Experience handling hazardous chemicals a must.
  • Ability to lift 50 Ibs on a continuous basis.
  • Previous food processing experience in a GMP environment required, including knowledge of GMP and HACCP programs
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude
  • Previous forklift operation experience required
  • Ability to perform and oversee cleaning and housekeeping activities
  • Strong leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience with production scheduling and staff coordination
  • Open to continual learning, team-player
  • Must be willing to work a full 12-hour shift on swing schedule
  • Must be able to work mostly indoors and in seasonally hot temperatures.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
