The Production Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the manufacturing processes within our durable goods production facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The Operations Manager will lead a team of production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. By analyzing production metrics and implementing strategic initiatives, this role aims to optimize workflow and reduce costs. Ultimately, the Production Operations Manager will contribute to the overall success of the organization by ensuring that products are delivered on time and meet customer expectations.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily production operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and implement detailed production schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate production staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze production metrics and operational data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
- Collaborate closely with departments such as quality assurance, supply chain, maintenance, and engineering to ensure cohesive and efficient operations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting audits and training as necessary.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvement strategies to reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
- Participate in budgeting and cost control initiatives, monitoring expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and improvement plans to senior management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of production processes and quality control methodologies. Include shift schedule
- Familiarity and knowledge of metal fabrication is highly preferred but not required.
Preferred skills, such as knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, will enhance the ability to implement efficient processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
