Description
We are looking for a dedicated Production Material Planner to join our team in Alameda, California. In this long-term contract role, you will be instrumental in coordinating material planning processes to support the production of innovative uncrewed surface vehicles. You will collaborate across procurement, inventory, and production teams to ensure operational efficiency and achieve production targets.
Responsibilities
- Review production schedules and analyze inventory levels to identify material needs and potential risks.
- Generate detailed material shortage reports, escalating critical issues and prioritizing urgent resolutions.
- Work closely with procurement and cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of required components and materials.
- Coordinate with supply chain, inventory, and production teams to develop and execute strategies for resolving material shortages.
- Adjust material plans to account for changes in production schedules, engineering updates, or unforeseen disruptions.
- Recommend inventory adjustments to optimize stock levels and prevent overstock or shortages.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing material planning processes and mitigating shortages.
- Contribute to the development of tools and systems to improve visibility and efficiency in supply chain operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or a similar role within manufacturing or hardware development.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience in hardware or electromechanical manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and just-in-time inventory management.
