Production Assembler Description: The Production Assembler at Thompson Surgical Instruments performs a variety of manual and complex assembly tasks to build mechanical surgical retractors. These surgical retractors are used by surgeons for life saving procedures all over the world. Thompson Retractor provides a fulfilling environment, clean workspace with modern equipment. Responsibilities: Follow technical instructions to build parts to print with a minimum of 95% part acceptance Part building may include deburring, utilize fixtures, welding, bead blasting, and general assembly Discern quality of parts and materials in production and bring any issues to the attention of the Manufacturing Manager and Production Foreman Provide assembly feedback on new and existing procedures and parts that will aid quality and efficiency Verify specifications by measuring completed assemblies Document actions by completing production and quality forms in a software system Start up and shut down manufacturing equipment Maintain the tools used to assemble products by completing preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, or notifying Production Foreman of needed repairs Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace Requirements: Ability to read technical instructions and understand technical terms from a print and work order 1 Year + experience using various manufacturing equipment 1 Year + experience using measuring apparatuses Must be highly attentive to detail and strive for perfection in assembly Must be willing to learn and follow instruction exactly Must be reliable and punctual Strong communication and team building skills Must be able to occasionally lift 50lbs Reports to: Production Foreman Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8 hour days with major holidays off Salary: $18.30 - $22.30/hour plus benefits EEO/AA Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $22.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: Bonus opportunities Ability to Commute: Traverse City, MI 49684 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Traverse City, MI 49684: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
