Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support our Operations ME&D Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering team. This role focuses on heavy-duty truck projects for the Japanese market and other export markets. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing project execution and maintenance, ensuring that manufacturing processes align with design and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review design changes using 3D data and drawings from a manufacturing engineering perspective, providing constructive feedback to the design team.
• Study and prepare tools and equipment that align with target manufacturing processes and concepts.
• Develop and prepare assembly instructions and documentation for process control to be provided to the production team.
• Verify and validate tools and equipment installations, and oversee project build activities on-site, addressing any identified issues promptly.
• Report critical tasks and events to the manager and team leaders as necessary.

Input and Deliverables:

• Adhere to the project time plan and manufacturing requirements, targets, and standards.
• Utilize specifications and documentation related to the current manufacturing setup.
• Deliverables include:
• Manufacturing feedback to the design team to ensure alignment with manufacturing requirements and secure design release.
• Development of manufacturing processes that meet project targets, including tools and equipment installation and robust processes post-production start.
• Establish assembly instructions and documentation, including equipment control data to ensure manufacturing quality.
• Regular reporting to management on critical tasks and events.

Required Competencies:

• Manufacturing engineering experience in the automotive industry or similar.
• Process study and design, equipment introduction, and profitability calculation.
• Proficiency in relevant IT tools: Creo, Kola, SPRINT, or similar eBOM/mBOM work experience.
• Strong communication skills in Japanese (native or fluent) and basic proficiency in English.
• Cross-functional work experience with a good understanding of team dynamics.
• Additional experience or knowledge in related manufacturing processes or tools.
