Accountabilities:

  • Establish relationships with peers throughout the organization to ensure a strong level of service is delivered
  • Develop a strong understanding of Critical Control Production Accounting Clients assets to ensure the group continues to be a value-added contributor to the business
  • Develop a strong understanding of Critical Control Production Accounting Clients assets to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Build and maintain a strong rapport with clients, working interest owners, royalty owners, field operators, engineers, land, and marketing people as well as government personnel
  • Full cycle production and revenue accounting for operated and non-operated properties for multiple clients across multiple jurisdictions on tier one and two properties

Tasks:

  • Setup and maintenance of master data in ProStream including new wells, contracts and royalties
  • Set up, review, and charge out of third-party service agreements
  • Monthly review and reconciliation of accounts receivable
  • Verify and record royalty income
  • Respond to government, royalty, partner, and internal stakeholders’ queries
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies
  • Liaise and assist the field operations team with accurate and timely input of production data
  • Gather and review client data to meet industry and government regulatory reporting deadlines
  • Input and process monthly submissions in Petrinex
  • Analyze properties monthly for accuracy of test data, proration factors and changes in production
  • Read and interpret various land abstracts
  • Perform interpretation of flow schematics and contract agreements
  • Contract interpretation and analysis
  • Update or set up royalty obligation masters
  • EPAP considerations
  • Industry trend analysis
  • Maintain marketing and trucking deductions
  • Maintain accurate, up to date, usable and in use property files of production and revenue data
  • Ensure monthly revenue completeness and integrity (operated and non-operated)
  • FDC analysis
  • Enter well tests, inventories, and sales into ProStream
  • Gather and analyze volumetric data for wells, batteries, gathering systems, injection facilities and gas plants
  • Confirm pipeline deliveries
  • Communicate volumetric activities and product splits to owners, producers, partners and purchasers
  • Upload pipeline splits, volumetrics, SAF/OAF and/or Valuations to Petrinex
  • Submit oil splits to Petrotranz
  • Calculate and book revenue, royalties, tax credits and processing fees
  • Review purchaser statements and reconcile accounts receivable
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and take part in other special projects as assigned

  • Government agencies (for example AER)
  • Working interest owners, royalty owners

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 5 or more years of production and revenue accounting experience
  • Strong Working knowledge of Production Accounting Software, and Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (filters, pivot tables, etc.) with prior experience leveraging these skills to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Proficient with multiple government Directives and compliance requirements
  • Interpretation of flow schematics as well as Land and Joint Venture contract agreements
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and multi-task effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, confidentially, and professionally in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Strong team player with the ability to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals
  • Knowledge of Alberta and Saskatchewan properties. Knowledge of BC properties is an asset
  • Cappa certification
