Role Description:
Software Functional Test Engineer responsible for testing of Charging Station Software that includes Battery, Battery management system, Battery Thermal Management & Chargers, Health Monitoring & Safety, Metrics Collection and Localized Edge Analytics. Additional responsibilities include testing of the station and interfacing cloud using APIs & WIFI. Test documentation for release management, which includes Graphical representation of Data, Serial Communication Data interpretation(CAN, RS-485, Ethernet), Knowledge about International & Indian Safety Standards. Understanding of Mechanical & Thermal Systems such as HVAC, Liquid Cooling.
Ideal Experience :
4+ years experience in Product software functional testing methodologies, tools with Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/E&C Engineering/CS/IT or related field.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive DV/DVVP/test plans and test cases based on product software functional validation requirements and specifications.
- BMS SW, CAN communications, Battery Fault code, Strategies verification
- Telematics data, cloud data, battery live data, SWAP cycle data verification
- Execute various types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and usability testing, covering all scenarios for a product as well as SW.
- Proficiency in automation & languages such as Python, C, C++.
- Identify, document, and prioritize defects and issues found during testing, utilizing bug-tracking systems. Field Issues RCA using Cloud Data Analytics.
- Work closely with development teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve reported issues.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to ensure alignment between testing efforts and business goals.
- Participate in requirement analysis and design reviews to provide input on testability, usability, and performance considerations.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in software testing techniques.
- Communicate test results and findings to relevant stakeholders clearly and concisely.
- Contribute to the overall quality assurance strategy and participate in team discussions to drive quality improvements.
Preferred Key Skills:
- Understanding of automotive EV systems, like BMS, Charger, Station SW, and control units
- Proficiency in MS Office. Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases using Excel. Proficiency in Report preparation using MS Word, Graphical representation of Data using Line Charts, Bar Charts, etc.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols such as CAN, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Serial Communication protocols such as RS-485. Understanding of Docker & Cloud Infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience to validate the SW, functionalities, strategies, and architecture at a deep level.
- Good knowledge about Software Languages such as Python, C, C++ and languages such as JavaScript and Selenium, if possible.
- Experience to validate the SW independently with or without a product (Simulation Testing).
- Understanding of electrical/electronic hardware controllers used in the automotive industry.
- System parameter, logic, signals, fault code, alarms simulation, and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience on multiple control units, data mapping & configuration.
- Hands-on experiences on low/high voltage DC & AC systems in the automotive industry.
- Understanding of the Electrical Distribution system (Voltage levels, Grid fluctuations, surges, Protection Devices used, etc.)
- Proficiency in debugging, issue finding, route cause analysis at SW & hardware level.
- Understanding of Automotive software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools required for SW functional validation, such as Vector CANalyzer.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently & collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to distribute work to other individuals in a clear & concise manner to receive the desired output as per Design & other Key Stakeholders’ expectations.
