This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on ensuring that all products meet rigorous safety standards through thorough testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with domestic and international product safety standards, including UL, CE, and IEC. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams - especially product development, QA, sourcing - building out internal safety protocols and ensure our client's lighting products meet global requirements. Frequent international travel to Asia-based factories is required to oversee safety testing, collaborate with vendor partners, and train factory teams. While this role does not initially include direct reports initially, there is opportunity for future team leadership as our client's safety function grows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary product safety liaison for product development, compliance, sourcing, and legal teams
  • Partner with Asia-based manufacturers and QA teams to align on testing criteria, ensure audit readiness, and support ongoing compliance
  • Provide training to factory staff and QA auditors on safety protocols and evolving international regulations

Program Development

  • Help expand and evolve internal safety programs to support new product lines and global compliance needs
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of product safety processes, tools, and documentation
