Summary

Purpose of the Job:

The Product Manager will be responsible for overseeing the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of the automotive product lineup. This role requires a strong strategic mindset, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure successful product execution in the South African market.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Development: Define and implement product strategies based on market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the development, launch, maintenance, and phase-out of vehicles, ensuring continued relevance and profitability.
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth research to identify opportunities, assess competitor offerings, and analyse consumer preferences.
  • Pricing & Positioning: Develop competitive pricing strategies that maximize profitability while ensuring market competitiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless product execution.
  • Go-to-Market Execution: Lead product launches, marketing campaigns, training initiatives, and promotional strategies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track product performance, analyse sales data, and make strategic recommendations for improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with South African automotive regulations, APDP2 guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Supplier & Vendor Management: Collaborate with suppliers to optimize product quality, specifications, and cost efficiency.


Qualifications & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field .
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in product management within the automotive industry.
