In the new product development area, they could work on multiple new products from car seats to strollers. This role is hands-on, and activities range from CAD modeling, drawing updates, DFMEA’s, BOM’s (Bill of Material), EC’s (Engineering Changes) product cost management, and validation testing. Domestic and International travel may be required.
Examples of Typical Activities:
Evaluate current products and develop ways to reduce the cost of materials and manufacturing
Work with Program Management team, to schedule pilot builds and product testing
Travel to evaluate pilot testing and to develop countermeasures to address concerns
Work cross functionally with other departments
Work with suppliers through procurement to meet product specifications
Work with Quality department to confirm compliance & safety needs are achieved
Required Experience
Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Technology with minimum 5-7 years of experience; or
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technology with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience; or
Equivalent Work experience in a related field or industry.
Plastic design experience a plus.
Required Technical Competencies
Proficiency with Solid Modeling (CREO/ProE, CATIA, NX, SOLID WORKS)(Surfacing a plus)
Experience with cost reduction activities
Show familiarity with various types of manufacturing
Experience with BOM creation and Engineering Change procedures
Mechanical Aptitude with hands on capability
