As a subject matter expert, the Product Development Engineer leads designs and leads

technical research and concept development with minimal oversight. A key responsibility is leading development products that consider manufacturing processes to ensure that design or product can be reliably manufactured at cost target. This position must form partnerships with OEM technical teams in a customer-centric

mindset focus on a front-end innovation approach that will create competitive advantage and long-term category growth.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Customer Engagement (40%) – This position is responsible for teaming up with
  
  

our sales and product marketing team to build and maintain strong relationships with our existing and potential customers in the Asia Pacific region.

• Complete Product Design Projects (20%) – In providing a high level of
  
  

engineering knowledge and practice, this position leads formal and informal

projects independently and participates in developing departmental processes. Through evaluation of new product ideas, this role reviews market direction and customer needs

• New Business Development (20%) – This engineer will be responsible for
  
  

support in the development of market share capture plans, go-win strategies and teaming approaches with OEMs in addition to:

— Serving as technical point of contact with OEM engineering leaders,actively establishing relationships to enable collaborative productdevelopment

— Leading rapid prototype build/test cycles and data collection to expedite

technical decision-making

— Maintaining thorough competitive product understanding based on data,

customer feedback and market research analysis

— Providing product engineering support for the Oregon Tool product

portfolio expansion to cover gaps in existing assortment

— Assist in developing strategic plans, identifying required new capabilities,

providing feedback on products, industry trends and customer needs, and fostering partnerships with key players to support successful bid proposals

• Supplier / Lab Capability Building (20%) – This position will work closely
  
  

with our strategic supply partners and our internal performance and metallurgy

labs to improve capabilities, continuously improve and win more business with our customers.

• Communication and Documentation – In addition to communicating and
  
  

defending design decisions, this position renders technical opinions and offers

potential solutions, sustains an atmosphere of open communication among managers, team members, external and internal stakeholders

Knowledge & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience including demonstrated proficiency using Pro-E /
  
  

Solidworks; must be able to create 3D models of designs and create 2D drawings

to acceptable drafting practices

• Proven experience leading product development projects from concept to launch
• Experience with designing metal components for high volume manufacturing
  
  

environments preferred
