Our R&D department within the “New Business Development” business unit has the ambition to make Vandersanden future-proof. What will you do?

Research & Development: You are a real Sherlock and love to immerse yourself in a subject in order to solve a problem in a structured way. You coordinate projects independently and follow up planned actions with different stakeholders. Diving into research to the level of chemistry does not scare you off.


Research: You enjoy carrying out all kinds of tests to gain detailed understanding of the subject matter. You enjoy mastering samples both manually and also digitally. You are independent and enjoy varied experiments, always being critical of the test method and the resulting findings. You manage and maintain the equipment we use for our experiments.


Engineering: You have a keen interest in technology and development and enjoy carrying out trials in order to understand how things work in detail and suggest improvements. You are a point of contact for customers who encounter problems and can solve the problem independently on site.


Project management: You lead projects independently and are the lynchpin between all stakeholders. You are a born time manager and a transparent and clear communicator. The projects result from an R&D trajectory and are largely fully developed, although you are flexible enough to take start-up problems into account and solve them together with the R&D manager & team.


Future innovations: You have a strong interest in innovation and are a born creative. You are very sociable and enjoy motivating, encouraging and guiding people to think and act out-of-the-box. You are an organiser and are the internal and external point of contact in the organisation regarding innovation.


You will need this:

  • Master's degree in product development/engineering or equivalent through experience;
  • Initial work experience preferably in the construction industry, in product, design or business development;
  • A hands-on approach and you like to test out new ideas yourself;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Out-of-the-box thinking, without losing sight of realistic feasibility;
  • Give attention to structured communication and documentation;
  • Innovative attitude and you show interest in new materials and technologies;
  • Languages: Dutch & English, knowledge of French & German is a plus;
  • Experience with project management software is a plus as well as experience with certification.
