Summary

Samson Rose has partnered with a cutting-edge robotics and manufacturing client to find a Product CAE Engineer to join their growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and managing finite element (FE) models of structural components and full system architectures across a range of vehicle platforms. You’ll also conduct in-depth engineering analysis using advanced CAE tools to assess structural performance.

The person they are looking for should have:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in aerospace structural analysis.
  • Experience in analysis software packages such as Nastran, Optistruct, and/or LS-Dyna.
  • Experience in crash/non-linear, NVH, and durability analyses of structural components and model creation for full vehicle analysis
  • Proficient with Altair Hypermesh or Beta CAE ANSA preprocessors.
  • Ability to utilize hand calculations to supplement analysis results.
  • Outstanding comprehension of solid mechanics.
  • Strong understanding of bolt joint margin calculations.
  • Solid understanding of linear/nonlinear behaviors of advanced materials (composites, adhesives, metals) to achieve lightweight structural solutions.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and motivated self-starter who can manage personal workload and execution to tight schedule.
  • Predominantly operates in an office environment. Some periods of time may be spent in conference room and indoor/outdoor for physical test observation for correlation work.
  • Must be a US permanent resident or citizen due to the nature of the work.


Big pluses for:

  • Material characterization and component / system-level CAE – physical test correlation experience is a plus.
  • Experience with aerospace load applications and MIL-STDs.
  • Experience interfacing with engineering, testing, and manufacturing groups to understand system designs and the associated constraints.
  • Knowledge of overall vehicle systems/sub-systems and requirements is a plus.
  • Experience supporting analysis and completing documentations for airworthiness certifications.
  • Supported or engaged directly with DoD airworthiness stakeholders such as Air Force Test Center (AFTC) or FAA.
  • Experience supporting structural design and analysis throughout the design, build, and test phases of a development cycle.
  • Experience with fast iteration prototyping programs.
