Must have experience with mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, along with data analysis and characterization tools such as SEM.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-temperature sapphire and silicon crystal growth experiments using the Heat Exchange Method (HEM)
• Apply both practical and theoretical knowledge in crystal growth processes
• Operate shop equipment required for experimental procedures
• Modify existing equipment to meet experimental needs
• Document detailed procedures and results for HEM crystal growth and Fixed Abrasive Slicing Technique (FAST)
• Utilize basic mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering skills
• Provide feedback on R&D crystal growth and slicing experiments
• Perform data analysis and apply critical thinking for process development and characterization
• Operate and understand characterization equipment such as scanning electron microscopes (SEM)
• Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
