Summary

In a nutshell

On its mission to rapidly reduce emissions in the aviation sector, Spark e-Fuels is developing new technologies for streamlined, highly flexible, and efficient e-fuel production processes. Our ideas are investigated efficiently and purposefully in laboratory setups and validated for scaling up to larger scales, always with the target application for decentralized production of sustainable fuels at suitable locations in mind.

Your Mission

We seek a highly motivated chemical or process simulation engineer for our process development.

By building and optimizing detailed process simulations, you’ll provide insight into our innovative e-fuel process. Throughout the projects, you will establish essential process modeling abilities at Spark and support our technology development strategy. You will be involved in experimental work on our Reverse-Water-Gas-Shift and Fisch-Tropsch approach in different scales and integrate the obtained knowledge into your process simulations, paving the way to further scale-up and make an impact. Join us in our vision to scale up and commercialize sustainable chemical technologies!

How to contribute to success

  • Build and perform process simulations for Spark’s innovative e-fuel process chain.
  • Develop dynamic process models based on intermittent renewable energy availability.
  • Contribute to the technology development strategy by optimizing plant efficiency.
  • Evaluate data from Reverse-Water-Gas-Shift and Fischer-Tropsch experiments and integrate them into your process simulations.
  • Inform experimental work on Reverse-Water-Gas-Shift and Fischer-Tropsch in lab- and pilot-scale.
  • Document and present process models and simulation results.

What you bring along

  • You have a degree in chemical engineering, industrial chemistry, process engineering, or similar.
  • You have hands-on experience building process simulations in relevant software (ASPEN, gProms, AVEVA, or similar), experience with dynamic simulations will be considered a plus.
  • You have a deep understanding of the Reverse-Water-Gas-Shift and/or Fischer-Tropsch reaction and product composition.
  • You have a strong problem-solving mentality and strong organizational skills.
  • Your verbal and written communication skills are exceptional.
  • Nice to have: you have hands-on experience with experimental work on Reverse-Water-Gas-Shift and/or Fischer-Tropsch reactors.

You are the most qualified person to determine if this role suits you to excel. We strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements.
