Agropur is looking for a Process Optimization Project Engineer to take the lead in maximizing raw material efficiency from the moment ingredients arrive to the final product. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Process Optimization Project Engineer will develop and implement transformation processes to improve operational yield. This includes collaborating with plant leadership and corporate functions to define project scopes, design processes, estimate capital and operating costs, select contractors/suppliers, specify equipment, and coordinate execution plans all with a strong focus on measurable results.

Salary range 005: 86 900$ to 108 600$ (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)
What’s Involved In This Rôle
Analyze equipment and plant processes to identify inefficiencies and optimize raw material usage.
Track every step from reception to shipping, generating accurate daily dairy yield reports.
Diagnose issues, design solutions, and implement corrective actions.
Develop process designs, equipment specifications, and cost estimates for optimizations and new installations.
Oversee plant startup and commissioning activities.
Monitor projects for impacts on personnel, quality, and safety, ensuring budgets are respected for efficient execution.
Use equipment and ERP system data to track raw material losses and yield efficiency.
Provide expertise on CapEx projects related to raw material optimization.
Create data tools for training and process improvement.
Adhere to quality assurance and health and safety policies, reporting any anomalies.
Interact with contractors, conduct cost/benefit analyses, and collaborate with suppliers.
What You Need To Join Our Team
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, Food, Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant field.
1 to 5 years of engineering project experience in the food industry.
Member of the Order of Engineers.
Willingness to travel frequently between plants.
Proficiency with data analysis systems (SAP/Oracle) and integrated ERP systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English (English is required for collaboration with colleagues in other Canadian provinces).
