Based on the requirements of the business, the Process Operator will be scheduled to work in one or any the following areas in the Processes/Operations that the operator has been train and is qualified in the list of duties below. The Process Operator will be required to do one or any of the following: Primary Responsibilities: Set up and operate and/or assist in operation of processing and fabrication equipment on a variety of insulation materials. Inspect and test in-process testing of all solid insulating products to determine suitability for use and shipment to customers. This includes all raw materials, intermediates, and developmental materials. Material handling and storage equipment, hand tools, measuring and testing equipment personal protective equipment Minimum knowledge to Operate the waste storage facility at the Schenectady plant. Provide direction to plant operators for proper segregation of waste, labeling and containerization. Perform a variety of duties related to non-hazardous and hazardous waste control, including classification, storage and disposal of waste materials in Varnish room RV-14. Inventory control raw, semi-finished and finished materials. Unload material, store materials in proper locations, observing special precautions. Maintain stock records Physical Demands: Moderate to heavy physical activity. Lifting up to 50 pounds and with the assistance of cranes up to 100 pounds or more. The ability to stand for up to 6 or more hours a day, reaching forward with arms and upper body, manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers. Climbing required for some equipment. Work Environment: PPE is required. Some areas may require the use of ear protection and full face respiratory. For this reason you must always be clean shaven. THIS IS A 3RD SHIFT POSITION: Work week starts on Sunday at 11pm, and ends on Friday at 7am Starting rate: $22+/hr with 3 rate increases per year scheduled. Union shop: Union dues begin 30 days after your employment. Dues are based on your hourly rate. You will be on a 6-month probationary period. We are strict NO SMOKING facility.
