This position is responsible for managing process improvement initiatives and efficiency projects across all terminal departments. This includes ensuring adherence to customers' expectations, company standards, federal, state, and local regulations, and proactively updating processes to reflect regulatory changes, ultimately enhancing safety and efficiency. Your core responsibilities are: * Lead and Manage Process Improvement Initiatives: * Develop and execute a comprehensive process improvement strategy aligned with * organizational goals. * Establish and maintain a framework for continuous improvement, incorporating Lean and Six * Sigma methodologies. * Prioritize and manage a portfolio of process improvement projects, ensuring timely and effective * execution. * Apply Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies: * Utilize Lean tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, 5S) to eliminate waste and * optimize workflows. * Apply Six Sigma techniques (e.g., DMAIC) to reduce process variation and improve quality. * Conduct data analysis and statistical analysis to identify root causes of inefficiencies and * develop data-driven solutions. * Drive Efficiency Projects Across Departments: * Collaborate with department leaders to identify process improvement opportunities. * Facilitate cross-functional teams to implement process improvements. * Provide guidance and support to departments in applying Lean and Six Sigma principles. * Ensure Regulatory Compliance: * Monitor and assess the impact of regulatory changes on processes. * Implement process improvements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and * standards. * Maintain documentation of process improvements and compliance efforts. * Change Management: * Perform Management of Change process in the Terminal. * Participate and lead commissioning of new projects. * Training and Mentoring: * Develop and deliver training programs on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. * Mentor and coach employees on process improvement techniques. * Foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. * Performance Monitoring and Reporting: * Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process improvement effectiveness. * Monitor and analyze process performance data. * Prepare and present reports on process improvement progress and results to management. * Stakeholder Collaboration: * Work closely with all levels of the organization, to insure buy in for process changes. * Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for process * improvement initiatives. * Act as a Gate Keeper in the Operations team and work together with maintenance. * Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position It is Vopak's policy to employ and administer employees without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, citizenship status, or status as a disabled veteran or veteran of the Vietnam Era and in accordance with federal and state civil rights laws. Work Environment This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 104°F (40°C) and some exposure to cold of generally no less than 15°F (-10°C) in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. The employee may enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments. The Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when outside. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak and hear. The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to climb ladders/storage tanks up to 50' in height. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees may be required to travel by air, rail, bus, or car.
