Process Engineer

Job Summary

You’ll be working inside a high-volume vehicle processing and distribution environment, focused on making systems run faster, smoother, and more efficiently. The role is hands-on: optimizing workflows, designing new processes, implementing Lean tools, and training teams on continuous improvement methods. You’ll analyze how vehicles and accessories move through the facility — and find ways to cut time, reduce errors, and boost throughput.


What You’ll Do

  • Implement continuous improvement principles across vehicle processing and distribution centers.
  • Design, control, and optimize production processes.
  • Keep communication open with line and staff to monitor and report on progress.
  • Present improvement opportunities, analysis, and recommendations to operations leadership.
  • Track technology trends and contribute to future planning and facility design.
  • Create job instructions and accessory installation standards.
  • Develop process documentation for facility planning, design, and vehicle flow.
  • Train associates in continuous improvement methods.
  • Coordinate accessory readiness for high-volume manufacturing.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5–7 years in operations, with proven experience in auditing, operations analysis, and implementing performance improvements.
  • High proficiency in Lean tools: Standard Work, 5S, Visual Management, Kanban, Material Routes, Level Loading, Poka-yoke.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving methodologies: 8Ds, Kepner-Tregoe, Shainin, Red X, Six Sigma.
  • High proficiency in Value Stream Mapping.
  • Able to interpret technical data and communicate with a range of audiences.
  • Proven experience leading and coaching Kaizen teams.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred: Experience with SAP, Minitab, Tableau, Denodo, Simul8.
  • Valid in-state driver’s license required.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • On-site attendance required.
  • Travel up to 10% (domestic).
