Summary

  • This is a year-round PAID internship for a local Kansas City mechanical engineering student available to work 20+ hours per week minimum (Monday - Friday)**

Smith & Loveless is united under one cause: “Protecting Water. Protecting People.” We are seeking a Process / Environmental Engineer Intern to partner with our experienced engineering teams in this environmentally focused industry.

A Process / Environmental Engineer Intern at Smith and Loveless supports the design, manufacture, and installation of Smith & Loveless industrial process filtration system products and product improvements including the development of drawings, specifications, and O&M manuals along with supporting and training users and developing documentation for record maintenance.

Skills/Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university, with a concentration in water/wastewater preferred.
  • Ability to work 15+ hours per week year-round in Lenexa, Kansas.
  • Prior experience with BioWin or Sumo software is preferred.
  • Good student mentality and positive attitude.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and common drafting practices preferred.
  • Good communication skills (written and oral), ability to communicate technical requirements, meet deadlines, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with limited supervision.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Job Duties

  • Assist with preparing process designs.
  • Assist with new process designs and methods for R&D
  • Evaluate wastewater processes
  • Other duties as assigned by the Process Engineering Manager
