JOB SUMMARY: The Processing Engineering Technician is responsible for ensuring manufacturing products, processes and systems are defined and maintained. This is to consistently manufacture products at their expected quality levels.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor and update production processes and parameters as required to maximize production yield.
- Evaluate processing equipment after maintenance or repair to ensure production readiness.
- Learn all factory processing operations in a wafer fab type manufacturing line and directly support these operations, including training of manufacturing operators.
- Perform experimentation with new methods and processes under guidance from Process Engineers.
- Support new process development such as: new equipment installation and qualifications, material evaluations/qualifications, tooling/fixture development.
- Verify machine logs and product processing sheets to ensure records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
- Prepare charts, graphs and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling and machine utilization.
- Plan strategies for prioritizing individual workload in order to meet defined goals.
- Work with Engineering and Manufacturing Personnel in resolving problems to the root cause.
- Assist Manufacturing in reconfiguring and optimizing work stations as needed.
- Adhere to safety requirements when developing or modifying processes.
- Adhere to clean room protocol.
- Serve as a member of manufacturing safety team.
- Obtain and maintain Massachusetts industrial wastewater license (grade-1).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School or Equivalent. Associates or Bachelor's Degree in materials science, chemical engineering, physics, microelectronics engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Experience Years: 5-8 years in lieu of degree or 0-1 year with degree
- Experience Type: Manufacturing and/or Quality/Process support role in wafer or thin film manufacturing
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience
