Summary

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead, support, and manage a team of process technicians in our journey to enable world class manufacturing of Tesla's cutting-edge humanoid AI robot. The primary quality we are looking for is an exceptional ability to learn quickly and implement strategies for training effectively. This individual must be highly organized and possess an excellent ability to communicate. This role requires working closely with the Production, Maintenance, NPI, Engineering and Quality teams as we evolve through rapid innovation of this incredible product. * Ability to mentor and develop a strong team through selective recruitment, thorough on-boarding, training, and coaching within the team. Management of team includes proactively planning for labor needs ahead of production ramp, communicating job expectations, performing employee performance reviews, and managing expectations in alignment to company policies and procedures * Oversee a team of technicians and supervisors to troubleshoot yield fall-out, repair/rework, documentation, and accurate material inventory management in a rapidly evolving BOM and manufacturing process. The operation to learn is as large as the operation to build and requires an effective communicator to allow seamless flow of information between shifts * Utilize data from management of non-conforming material from process complexity, part quality, and other sources of production pain points to aggressively improve efficiency of the operation * Develop and maintain strategies for effective team skillset versatility * Develop effective training methodologies to support production associate onboarding and certification to highly complex assembly processes in a dynamic environment * Optimize labor utilization, reduce waste, and reduce variability. Align projects to drive manufacturing goals by reducing total number of defects per bot, hours of labor per bot, safety incidents, and rate * Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience. Prior Process Engineering, End-of-line repair, or Remanufacturing career history preferred * Ability to work and lead effectively with team and peers within a manufacturing and engineering organization * Enthusiastic, innovative, and take-charge attitude. This candidate can work independently and set the team's priorities based on competing and urgent priorities * Proficient in lean manufacturing methodologies and leadership. Proven consistent, rapid improvements to scaling operations will make a significant impact * Strong analytical capability and familiarity with analytical and statistical software systems such as SPC, JMP, Minitab, or Excel. Must be comfortable telling a story with data * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence in presenting to upper management
