Essential Duties/Functions:
Analyze existing production processes and work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement areas for improvement, focusing on efficiency, quality, safety, and sustainability, with a strong emphasis on operations automation.
Collaborate closely with Maintenance to maintain and upgrade process equipment.
Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Promote a safety-first culture and participate in risk assessments and HAZOP studies.
Collect and analyze process data to identify patterns and trends, and prepare reports on process performance to drive data-driven decision-making.
Lead process improvement, CAPEX, and Engineering projects, following and championing Lean Six Sigma (or similar) continual improvement methodologies.
Train operators and technicians on process procedures, and update documentation around management of change, process procedures, and equipment design.
Investigate new opportunities to automate processes in existing plants or in cooperation with customers.
Work with automation equipment suppliers to ensure proper documentation around operation and maintenance of automation equipment. Create a "survival kit" for all equipment that includes SOPs, Preventative Maintenance Schedules, and critical spare equipment inventories.
Integrate all automation equipment into the PLC software architecture of the organization to ensure connectivity and harmonized data across the organization.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience in chemical manufacturing or related industries.
Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven managerial experience of maintenance personnel and contractors.
Hands-on electrical and mechanical experience with industry-standard equipment, preferably in the industrial/chemical industry.
Ability to create accountability.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, specifically during project installs or equipment downtime.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
40 Hours of Sick Time - 80 Hours of PTO

This is a fully onsite position in Schaumburg,IL.
