Summary:
Atomica is looking for a highly-skilled, hands-on, and capable Process Development Engineer I/II to join our Dry Etch team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing new processes, optimizing recipes, improving development and production cycle time of Dry Etch processes developed on various tool platforms as it relates to deep silicon etch, oxide etch, milling, and ash processes.
Responsibilities:
- New process development with DOE, execute and analyze experiments
- Proficiency in JMP to create and analyze DOEs is an advantage
- Take ownership of process development on assigned tool platforms
- Understanding of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS)
- Collaborate with Integration Engineers and cross-module Engineers, specifically Litho that has direct effect on Etch processes to ensure a seamless process integration
- Implement process control on assigned tool platforms
- Monitor tool health and performance through SPC and CpK
- Collaborate closely with equipment maintenance team to improve tool availability and stability
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting process issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring stable and repeatable processes on Dry Etch tool platforms, specifically in deep silicon etches and polymer cleaning
- Equipment design reviews, operational and process qualifications on CAPEX equipment
- Improve process and wafer line yield
- Process development, process cornering, process characterization
Requirements: - Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry or other relevant physical science
- BA/BS with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in MEMS or CMOS development or manufacturing
- Each additional level of education will be considered in lieu of industry experience
- Knowledge of DRIE processes
- Proficiency in the hardware of the dry-etch tool is a plus
- Focused, self-disciplined, multi-tasking, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams of various backgrounds
- Ability to work in both a clean room environment and an office environment
- Must be able to don and wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
- SPC and data analysis/ presentation experience using JMP
- Strong communication and presentation skills to convey technical information clearly
- Excellent problem-solving skills, data-driven mindset, and attention to detail
- US Person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms regulations

Compensation:
$75,000-$120,000
