Process Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Process Engineer to lead continuous improvement and process optimization efforts at our Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) and/or Parts Distribution Center (PDC). This role is responsible for developing and controlling production processes, designing workflow and installation standards, and driving lean manufacturing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations, lean tools, and problem-solving methodologies, along with excellent communication and leadership skills. This is an on-site role requiring consistent attendance, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

Process Engineer Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement across VPC/PDC operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize production processes.
  • Communicate with teams to monitor and report initiative progress.
  • Present improvement opportunities and support strategic decisions on process, equipment, and tooling changes.
  • Stay updated on manufacturing technology trends.
  • Create job instructions, vehicle flow designs, and standard documentation.
  • Train staff in lean and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ensure accessories and processes align with high-volume manufacturing standards.
  • Adhere to data privacy and customer information handling policies.

Process Engineer Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5–7 years of operations experience, including process improvement and auditing.
  • Strong expertise in lean tools: Standard Work, 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, etc.
  • High proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (8D, Six Sigma, etc.) and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and Kaizen facilitation skills.
  • Analytical skills in statistics, geometry, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; preferred experience with SAP, Minitab, Tableau, Denodo, Simul8.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
