Description
The candidate should have experience working with large-scale piping, valves, pumping systems, and treatment technologies. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible remote work schedule is available if needed. The ideal candidate will be in the Midwest or Southeast Region due to the number of projects in these areas.
Duties
Provide technical planning, biological process, mechanical design, and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects. Projects may include combined sewer overflow, collection system, pump station, stormwater, hydrologic and hydraulic models, and/or other water and wastewater projects.
Prepare engineering calculations, run process models (i.e,. Excel spreadsheet, Biowin, GPS-X, etc.), and support analysis of alternatives. Utilize effective technical writing skills to prepare technical memoranda to document alternative analyses, basis of design, business case evaluations, P&ID reports, etc.
Prepare design reports and construction plans for treatment plants and pump stations using local and state standards
Prepare/assist with specifications and permit submittals
Assist with/review the scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
Monitor task budget and progress
Document design changes and communications
Conduct on-site inspections and technical guidance for start-up as needed
Prepare project status and other reports
Assist in the preparation of proposals
Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings, including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
Maintain excellent client relations
Maintain a safe working environment
Publish and present papers at state and national conferences.
Can sit anywhere in the US, besides California; however, ideally would like someone in the EST or CST time zones. This can be fully remote, with an occasional job site visit. Job sites could be Michigan, Florida, Ohio, Nebraska, and possibly other states.
Must Haves
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Licensed PE or ability to obtain one within 6-12 months
5 plus years of experience working on Water Resource projects, including large-scale piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies
Expertise in more than one area of conventional activated sludge wastewater treatment, liquid and solid process,s including fundamentals of nitrification and denitrification systems, chemical or biological phosphorus removal, secondary and tertiary treatment, including high-rate disinfection systems, solids handling, and biosolids treatment is a plus
Process Modeling expertise (using Biowin, GPS-X, etc.)
Ability/experience to handle documents and drawings for these projects

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
